A FEW WORDS ABOUT ME
Jane has a BA Hons degree in Ceramics at Bath Academy. She works from home in her studio in the Westcounty.
Most of her work is oxidised stoneware and coiled, using a rich language of glazes developed over the years. Her work reflects the natural rhythms of the rocky Westcountry coastland.
Her pot shapes and use of glaze are inspired by a variety of influences, in recent years she has been increasingly interested in the work of Emile Galle and the Ecole de Nancy on visits to Paris. Roman,Pueblo Indian and Arabic pots still influence her work along with the early childhood she spent in Baghdad.
Jane became a full member of The Penwith Society of Artists, St. Ives in March 2013. She is also on the executive committee of the Westward Ho! and Bideford Arts Society. Jane's Past and Present Exhibitions.
